Hey Guys. One quick note about something you offhandedly mentioned about CES and 4K TV- while I agree that we're a ways away from any kind of broad-based adoption of it on a consumer level (a realistic price for TVs is at least 3-4 years away)- streaming or buffered 4K isn't as outlandish as you might think. In a year or two we're likely to see h.265 get released, which is supposed to deliver the current iTunes HD movie download at HALF the current bit-rate.
ReplyDeleteSo, conversely, we could see higher resolutions at about the same bit-rate we have now, or perhaps a bit higher, but certainly not 4X as you might think.
